Andromeda

Andromeda

Andromeda is a new line of fieldbus vector drives , characterised by innovative performance; these drives allow to command stepper motors also in closed loop of torque speed and position, with a drastic noise reduction, less heating and extremely smooth movements. Suitable for driving 2-phase hybrid stepper motors, they can be coupled mainly with the series of motors from Nema 8 to Nema 42. Completely digital and made using Arm Core M4 technology, Andromeda drives offer exceptional reliability combined with mechanical compactness and a competitive price. They can be used in many types of machines where there is already a fieldbus master controller to control single or multi-axle systems. Their use is of the 'general purpose' type and they are particularly suitable in labelling machines, laser cutters, pick-place devices, engraving tables, etc. or in any case in all applications in which not only versatility, precision and speed are required, but also smooth and silent movements as in the medical field.

Principal features

  1. Vectorial control
  2. Several fieldbus
  3. Serial Service for real time programming and debugging

Functions

  1. Drive control through commands by Master Controller. Suitable for multi axes systems (up to 127 drives). Built in powerfull Motion Module functionality assures perfect synchronization among axes and reduces Master Controller workload.
  2. Wide range of Positioning Control Modes (homing, relative, absolute, target)
  3. Autonomous management of the firmware for the execution of the homing, of the target movement with relative or absolute quota and for the generation of the ramp profiles
  4. Torque mode for operation with torque limitation
  5. Speed control thanks to digital inputs, analogue inputs or fieldbus
  6. Electronic CAM with advanced programming of internal profiles inside the drive
  7. Electric shaft with encoder or analogue input with variable tracking ratio (Electric Gear)
  8. Fast inputs and outputs for motor’ start & stop and event synchronization for high speed response applications such as labeling, nick finder, flying saw etc.
  9. Possibility to synchronize the movements in multiaxis systems, even without fieldbus
  10. Enabling and on-the-fly changing of the motion control modes
  11. Closed loop of torque, speed and position with encoder
